How To Be Happy In A Recession

The following is from an article by Deepak Chopra, MD, in the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper (Nov. 19):

"But as the economy contracts, we must resist our natural reflex to contract with it. Instead, we need to do the opposite. Expansion is the best way to survive any crisis. ... Fear deprives people of choice. Fear shrinks the world into isolated, defensive enclaves. Fear spirals out of control. Fear makes everyday life seem clouded over with danger."

We all know this, yet as we are 'in the world', we must make the choice again and again between fear and Love and let that choice guide our thoughts, words, and actions. That's practice.

Leslie Cheung -- a Bi-sexual Singer

Leslie Cheung (12 September 1956 – 1 April 2003) was an actor and musician from Hong Kong. Cheung was considered as 'One of the founding fathers of Cantopop," and "combining a hugely successful film and music career'.

In 2000, Cheung was named Asian Biggest Superstar by China Central Television, and voted as The Most Favorite Actor in 100 Years of Chinese Cinema in 2005.

Cheung was bisexual and once said in an interview in Time magazine: 'It's more appropriate to say I'm bisexual. I've had girlfriends. When I was 22 or so, I asked my girlfriend Teresa Mo to marry me.'

Despite numerous tabloid rumors, he denied his homosexual/bi-sexual orientation for the first half of his career, until his stance relaxed considerably after emigrating to Vancouver. In the early 1990s he became one of the few Hong Kong actors who dared to play gay characters on screen.

My Notes: I have no comments on the gay culture. I simply observe it as an interesting part of sociology.

Fortune Cookies

What I cannot understand about fortune cookies is the fact that they are so popular in those Chinese restaurants in America and you hardly hear their name in China. This really makes me wonder ......Do we even have different Chinese cultures here and there??
